Skeletal remains found July 2015 in Howard County have been identified, according to a release from the Howard County Sheriff’s Office.
The remains have been identified as Jose Mendez Cuellas Jr. of Big Spring, according to the release.
When the skeletal remains were found in 2015, they were sent off to specialists in Denton for analysis, according to the release.
Cuellar Jr. was reported missing in December of 2009 to the Big Spring Police Department, according to the release.
Investigators are still unclear as to what the cause of death is and the investigation is ongoing in conjunction with the Big Spring Police Department.
