The Library of Legacies is an assisted living facility with a hidden treasure inside that is bringing the Slaton community together. A cafe that is open inside the assisted living facility that is open to the public for lunch is helping bridge the gap between the homebound and the hungry. But the food is not the only thing bringing in customers, they also have a full service salon. 

Owner of Library of Legacies, Michelle Craig said that she “wanted something that the community could come out and be apart of the facility.”

What started out as a marketing tool for Craig has turned into a full service restaurant that gives the members of the community an idea of what assisted living is actually like. This cafe has also helped people in transitioning into the assisted lifestyle. 

“The soda shop and the beauty shop has really eliminated just that fear of having to go somewhere, it’s not that scary anymore because they know us all,” Craig said.
