Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to Coronado High School Friday morning at 6:31 a.m.
“When units arrived they found a small amount of smoke in the gym,” LFR said. “The source of the fire was a … rooftop heating/cooling unit.”
Jerry Adams, the school principal, sent an email to parents.
It said, “Early this morning before 7 AM there was a small fire on the roof unit in the athletic area. The fire was put out quickly by the fire department.”
It also said, “There will be no impact on classes today and we will have a regular school day.”
No injuries were reported.
