The Lubbock County Criminal District Attorney’s office organized a raid Friday during the noon hour at Smokes More #2 near 28th and Avenue Q.
Officials seized 123 packages of a material they suspect as synthetic marijuana. They also seized between $600 and $700 and one person was arrested for an unrelated charge.
Previous smoke shop raids in Lubbock have typically resulted in misdemeanor charges. However, as part of a crackdown against synthetic marijuana, District Attorney Matt Powell said in June of 2014 that felony charges could be filed.
