The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Snyder Driver License Office will be closed Aug. 21-25 for repairs and maintenance to the public areas of the building.
The office is expected to reopen to the public (at 8 a.m.) on Monday, Aug. 28. (The Snyder office is located at 501 E. 37th St.).
If customers need to visit an office during the this time, they are encouraged to visit the Colorado City Driver License Office (located at 333 Pine St.); the Sweetwater Driver License Office (located at 600 NW Georgia); the Post Driver License Office (located at 300 W. Main St.); or the Big Spring Driver License Office (located at 5725 IH-20 West). DPS encourages customers to check the DPS website for additional information about specific driver license offices, http://www.dps.texas.gov/administration/driver_licensing_control/rolodex/search.asp.
Many Texans are eligible to skip the trip to a driver license office altogether and instead take advantage of online services for driver license/ID card renewals, duplicates or address changes by visiting Texas.gov. Customers can also renew by phone at 1-866-357-3639. The eligibility requirements for phone renewal and online renewal are the same. The fee is the same for online, in-person and telephone renewals.
Important reminder: Customers may renew their Driver License/Texas ID card one year early prior to their expiration date, which allows them to choose a convenient time that fits their schedule.
