South Plains College will host a Candidates Forum at 7 p.m. on Tuesday (Feb. 23) in in the Tom T. Hall Production Studio. The forum will feature the eight Republicans vying for the U.S. congressional District 19 seat.

The forum is free and open to the public. Seating is limited.

The two-hour forum will feature eight candidates, Scott Laboratories President Jodey Arrington; farmer Jason Corley; Platinum Bank President and CEO Greg Garrett; veterinarian John Key; retired surgeon Donald May; Lubbock Mayor Glen Robertson; retired U.S. Air Force Col. Michael Bob Starr; and BrightStar Director of Nursing DeRenda Warren of Smyer.

The format will feature a question and answer segment conducted by three moderators, Jeff Klotzman, news director of KJTV Fox 34; Grant Dewbre, treasurer of the Student Government Association at SPC; and Jana Holt-Day, professor of Speech at SPC.

The candidates are running to replace the outgoing U.S. Rep. Randy Neugebauer, R-Lubbock, who has held the seat since 2003.
