The South Plains Food Bank is celebrating their seventh year of their summer sharing program. The food bank’s CEO, David Weaver said that seven years back, the bank was completely running out of food due to people going on summer vacation.
“Making food donations to the food bank isn’t always top of mind for everybody, but the needs of the hungry go on, as we say ‘hunger doesn’t take a vacation.” said Weaver.” The clients that we serve every single day, when we see the faces of them, and just know, through their thank yous, their God bless yous, that we are making a difference, and that’s what keeps me here”
