The South Plains Food Bank has five and a half acres of land that they utilize for their GRUB Program which stands for Growing Recruits for Urban Business. This program helps at risk kids by giving them an opportunity to learn different skills. Lynn Weir, Director of the FOG Division of the South Plains Food Bank said the kids are learning the basics of business while gaining an appreciation for agriculture. The kids sell CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) Shares to the community to teach kids about business. If you would like to purchase a CSA Share, contact Lynn at the food bank at (806) 763-3003.
