Lubbock and the surrounding region have experienced great developments in homeless services in the past year! One that continues to improve is the coordination of agencies and resources through the South Plains Homeless Consortium. The mission of SPHC is to lead the efforts to identify homeless issues and to support the development of community strategies to prevent and end homelessness. Whether it be homeless families, youth, or individuals, SPHC works to bring solutions to homelessness to every person in need on the South Plains.
We would like to invite you to join us in this work by becoming an event sponsor in support of the annual SPHC Luncheon: Giving Voice to Those in Need. Funds raised through this event will provide a variety of services to people experiencing homelessness in our region. In previous years, these funds have provided emergency funds to prevent homelessness, birth certificates and IDs for homeless individuals, and other crucial resources.
This year’s Luncheon will take place on April 21st, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Baker Conference Center on the Lubbock Christian University campus. This year’s luncheon will include a presentation about homeless youth. Speakers include representatives from Lubbock Independent School District, Lubbock Transition Center, and Sondra’s Song.
