Three hundred Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) bowlers will be making their way to South Plains Lanes (5150 69th St.) on Saturday, Nov. 19 and Sunday Nov. 20 for the 2016 Area 17 Bowling Competition. The athletes have been training for the last eight weeks and are ready to show off their skills. The competition will run from 10:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, and from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The athletes will compete in one of three divisions based on ability, including: singles bowling, ramp bowling and teams. The singles and ramp competitions will be held on Saturday, and teams will compete on Sunday. Awards and ribbons will be presented following each competition.
