The Alzheimer’s Association hosted their annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s Saturday morning at the Lubbock Moonlight Musicals Amphitheater.

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise funds and awareness for the disease’s care, research and support.

The event kicked off with an opening ceremony at 10:00 a.m., followed by the two mile walk at 10:30 a.m.

Participants learned about Alzheimer’s disease, how to get involved with the cause, research and clinical trial enrollment and support programs and services.

There was also a special tribute to those who have experienced or are experiencing the disease.

The goal this year was to raise a little over $100,000 for the cause.
