The Potter and Randall County Special Crimes Unit are investigating the death of an inmate Sunday morning.
According to the Potter County Sheriff’s Office, Domingo Cortinez, 45, was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital for preexisting medical conditions on March 22. He died around 6:00 a.m. Sunday morning at the hospital.
His cause of death has not been determined.
An autopsy was ordered by Justice of the Peace Gary Jackson. It’s scheduled for Monday morning at 9:30.
Authorities say once they get the final autopsy results, the cause of death will be determined.
