A speeding driver fleeing a DPS trooper blew through gate security at Fort hood, drove through the fort and out another gate Tuesday without being stopped.

The car was later found abandoned near Copperas Cove.

DPS Sgt Dave Roberts says it started about 12:25 p.m. Tuesday when a trooper tried to stop a car that was going east on Highway 190 in Coryell County for a traffic violation.

The vehicle was identified as a Blue Toyota 2 door passenger car occupied by a male driver with no other occupants.

\The vehicle refused to stop for the Trooper, continuing eastbound into Bell County.

The sriver got off 190 190 and drove onto Ft. Hood through the Clear Creek entrance, disregarding all gate security.

The vehicle continued to evade the Trooper on Ft. Hood eventually exiting post westbound on State Highway 9.

The Trooper lost sight of the vehicle after leaving Ft. Hood.  It  was later found abandoned on FM 116 on the north side of Copperas Cove.

No driver was found.

This case is still currently under investigation.
