The Silent Wings Museum in Lubbock, Texas will celebrate the Spirit of ’45 Day with free admission on Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Spirit of ’45 Day provides an opportunity for America to say “Thank You!” to those who served in uniform and those who supported them on the home front during the WWII era.

In 2010, Congress unanimously voted in favor of a national “Spirit of ’45 Day” to preserve and honor the legacy of the men and women of the World War II generation so that their example of national unity, shared sacrifice, can do attitude, and service to their community and country continues to inspire future generations of Americans.

Spirit of ’45 Day is now being observed in hundreds of communities throughout America, with events and activities in public parks, community centers, museums, memorials, senior living communities and during Major League Baseball games all across the United States.

On Sunday, August 14, 2016 visitors to the museum will enjoy free admission, all day. Join us as we honor those who served and supported our country during WWII.
