St. Benedict’s Chapel is dedicated to serving Lubbock’s homeless, working poor and food insecure and they are moving to a new location. In 2007, they started to serve meals every night and provided brunch and a Sunday morning worship service in downtown Lubbock. They have moved to a new, larger facility at 28th and Avenue P.
They are holding an open house on Saturday from 4 p.m., to 6 p.m., to celebrate the new facility. They will have hamburgers and hot dogs cooked by the members of the Texas Tech Saddle Tramps as well as a ribbon cutting. They are also starting a fundraising campaign to be a “Partner for a Day.” You can find more information about all of this at www.stbenedictslubbock.com.
