Stand against Oppression, Bullying, Boring Music and Prejudice!

Divergent Series fans rejoice, as part one of the final book, Allegiant, hits theaters. Tris and Four must escape Chicago to find peace for their home city. They make many new discoveries, but the new truths they uncover put all of humanity at risk. The PG-13 film runs two hours, and the second part of the last book will hit theaters next year. You can join the fight for life at either Cinemark or at the Alamo.

An award-winning documentary come the Tech’s Allen Theater, and it’s open to the public, The film, A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story, is about bullying, which isn’t always physical. The producer, Sara Bordo, screens the film at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday night. Again, that’s at the Allen Theater at Texas Tech, and it’s free.


Ben Rector performs in Lubbock Monday night. The pop singer has sold more than 250,000 albums, independently, and more that 2 million single-song downloads. He’s been selling out small venues for six years. The show is at 8:00 p.m., at the CityBank Auditorium. You can get your $24 to $39 tickets through Select-a-Seat.

And Sesame Street Live comes back to Lubbock, Tuesday. Elmo, Grover, Abby Cadabby and all your favorites will perform “Make a New Friend” at the USA. They welcome Chamki, Grover’s friend from India, and together they all explore the fun of different cultures. There are two performances, one at 3:00 p.m. and the other at 6:30 p.m. You can get your $10 to $60 tickets through Select-a-Seat.
