The South Plains Advocates for Rights & Community will host a “Stand up for Science” rally and health fair.

EVENT:         
The “Stand up for Science” rally and health fair is a satellite event affiliated with the national March for Science in Washington D.C. Guest speakers will discuss the importance of publicly funded and communicated scientific research for public interest.

The event will include live music, interactive activities and informative tables from local health and science organizations.

Ron Roberts, chief meteorologist at KAMC-TV will give the keynote address. Special guest speakers include professors Melanie Barnes, Yehia Mechref, Lisa Gittner and Robert Forbis from Texas Tech University.
