15-Year-Old Dies in Farm Accident in Parmer County

The Parmer County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday released information about the accidental death of a 15-year-old. 

An official statement said the teen was working in a cotton field Wednesday night when he buried in a cotton module.


“It is believed that the death was a farm equipment related incident but the investigation is still
ongoing,” the statement said. 

The full statement is posted as follows: 

On 11/15/2017 at approximately 10:00 PM the Parmer County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an individual involved in an agricultural related injury and possible death. The response was to a cotton field located off County Road BB and County Road 12 in rural Parmer County to a field where cotton was being stripped. Upon arrival it was found that a 15 year old worker was deceased and had been found buried in a cotton module. It is believed that the death was a farm equipment related incident but the investigation is still ongoing and the Parmer County Justice of the Peace Pct. 3 Judge Haseloff has ordered an autopsy.
