An Abilene couple has been indicted in connection to a 2-year-old who tested positive for cocaine, morphine, heroin, and marijuana.
Kevin Harris, 30, and Kiana Crain, 24, were both indicted Thursday for Endangering a Child.
Court documents state police began investigating Crain and Harris in June of 2017 when CPS received an anonymous tip that “Harris and Crain smoke crack every day all day with the child in the house” and “they snort heroin and smoke weed.”
During a subsequent investigation, hair follicle tests conducted on the child, Harris, and Crain showed the child tested positive for cocaine, morphine, heroin, and marijuana, Harris tested positive for cocaine, morphine, and heroin, and Crain tested positive for cocaine.
Both Harris and Crain told police they did the drugs at parties in the weeks prior to the tests, and when asked how the child got drugs in her system, the documents state Harris said “that he probably had residue on his hands from when he ingested.”
