AUSTIN (KXAN) — Starting this Sunday and for every Sunday through Sept. 2, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts will be offering a Big Red Kreme-filled doughnut to satisfy your soda-plus-dough craving.
The “Big Red” doughnut was initially offered as an exclusive product during the San Antonio Barbacoa & Big Red Festival but since it was so popular, the chain decided to expand it to other stores this summer.
“There are a lot of picnics and barbecues on Sundays and a Big Red doughnut was the perfect sweet treat for those occasions,” says Tim Sabo, marketing director of Glazing Saddles LLC., a Krispy Kreme Texas franchisee.
The Big Red Doughnut will be offered at participating Texas Krispy Kreme shops, two of which are in Austin and one in San Marcos.
