Several Houston police officers were shot Monday afternoon, according to law enforcement and media outlets.
The wounded officers were being rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital and Ben Taub, according to CBS affiliate KHOU-TV.
The shooting occurred in a residential neighborhood in the 7800 block of Harding in southeastern Houston.
“We have had several officers shot. Please pray for [the] officers,” Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo tweeted.
KHOU was reporting five officers were shot at the scene.
