The Hutchinson County Sheriff’s Office said Angel Vasquez, 22, was arrested Sunday afternoon after a vehicle chase.
HCSO said Vasquez was driving a stolen vehicle when a deputy tried to pull him over.
Vasquez drove through two fences at the Phillips 66 Refinery in Borger, according to officials.
Sheriff Kirk Coker said while Vasquez was at the plant he also broke into a trailer and stole equipment. He also drove a forklift on the property.
Coker estimated a million dollars worth of damage was done at the refinery.
It took more than three hours for officers to catch and arrest Vasquez.
Coker said the Borger Police Department, Hutchinson County Sheriff’s Office, Fritch Police Department, DPS and Texas Parks and Wildlife responded.
Coker said a private citizen flew his helicopter over the area to help officers with the chase.
Police said he was wanted out of Moore County for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
