The Fort Worth Police Department added another officer to the force — in hopes that the force would be with him.
In a video posted to its Facebook page, the Star Wars character Chewbacca joined the officers for a day.
“You get the Wookie,” says the officer handing out assignments in the video.
“I’m sorry, did you say the rookie?”
“No, the Wookie!”
Chewbacca engages in various antics while trying to be a police officer — including scaring a woman during a traffic stop and exploding the target with a crossbow during firing practice at the gun range.
At the end of the clip, words scroll on the screen reminding real rookies in the police department to be courteous and respectful to citizens and provide professional service.
“We hoped that we could find a place for him within our Department,” the Facebook post said. “Did it go well? You decide.”
