The following is a news release from the Clovis Police Department:

On Sunday, November 26, 2017, at about 2:58 p.m., Officers of the Clovis Police  Department and Fire Personnel of the Clovis Fire Department were dispatched to the 200 block of Calhoun Street in reference to a structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters noted a small, detached out building in the back yard of the home. This  outbuilding was engulfed in flames. Firefighters were told people were still Inside of the structure. Firefighters battled the fire and then they were able to enter the structure found three persons inside. All three persons were deceased. A fourth subject  had been able to escape the structure and was ultimately treated at Plains Regional Medical Center. 

The next of kin for the three deceased persons have been notified. The deceased persons have been identified as:

  • John Sandoval (54 years of age) 
  • Robert Mebane, (S1 years of age) 
  • Billie Jo Grabowslcy (52 years of age) 
  • The surviving fourth subject was identified as Rogelio Hemandez (53 years of age). 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
