A fatal crash occurred Wednesday morning on US Highway 60 near Friona when two vehicles collided, according to the Department of Public Safety.
The crash happened around 6 a.m. three miles southwest of Friona, DPS said.
A tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound on US 60. DPS said a car was leaving a private drive and failed to yield right of way to the truck when entering the intersection.
DPS said the driver of the car, Flavio L. Garcia, 23, of Clovis, New Mexico, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the truck was treated and released from the scene, DPS said. He was identified as Jimmie Leroy Looney Jr., 47, of Clovis, New Mexico.
