Dallas Police Officer Died After Home Depot Shooting

The Dallas Police Association on Wednesday said a police officer died after he was involved in a shooting incident Tuesday afternoon.

On Twitter, the association said, “@DallasPD Police Officer Rogelio Santander, who was shot yesterday in the line of duty at a Home Depot, has died. Please send prayers to his family!”


Armando Luis Juarez, 29, was arrested shortly before 10:00 p.m. for aggravated assault on a public servant and felony theft.

Police were called to the store in North Dallas to help an off-duty police officer to remove Juarez from the store. 

Juarez opened fire as he was being escorted from the store and then ran off. Several law enforcement agencies were involved in the pursuit that led to his eventual arrest.

At last check the two other gunshot victims were still hospitalized.
