Three students who were passengers on a school bus were taken to a hospital with minor injuries following a crash Wednesday morning in East Texas.
The driver of a pickup truck in the wreck, along with two children who were passengers in the truck, were also hospitalized.
Around 7:00 a.m., Pittsburg ISD bus No. 10 was traveling along Highway 271, just south of Pittsburg in Camp County, when it stopped to pick up a child. The stop lights were activated when the bus came to a halt.
According to PISD, a pickup truck attempted to drive around the bus, before losing control and hitting the bus.
The Texas Department of Public Safety publicly identified the driver of the truck as Angelika Resendez, 29, of Mount Pleasant. Resendez and the children in the truck were listed as being in serious condition.
Another bus was able to pick up the remaining children and take them to school.
