DPS seized close to 58 pounds of cocaine Tuesday after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Carson County.
At 2:18 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling east on I-40 near Conway, for a traffic violation. The Trooper then discovered multiple vacuum-sealed packages of cocaine inside a hidden compartment in the rear floor board. The cocaine is worth approximately $3.56 million.
The driver – Danyell Roberts – 44, of Orlando, Florida – was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. Roberts was transported and booked into the Carson County jail.
The drugs allegedly were being transported from Glendale, California to Orlando, Florida.
