The Texas Department of Public Safety reported on Sunday that two men were killled in a plane crash Friday afternoon in Fisher County.
The crash was reported just before 4:30 p.m. about 10 miles northwest of Rotan.
DPS said it appears the plane struck power lines before crashing into the bottom of a canyon.
The pilot was identified as Dallas Lee McMahon, 33, of Austin.
The passenger was identified as Jay Robert Liebson, 38, of Burnet.
Both men were pronounced deceased at the site of the plane crash.
Their bodies were taken to the Weathersby Funeral Home in Rotan.
DPS said the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are also investigating the crash.
The plane was a Cessna 172N.
