DPS responded to a fatal two vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Parmer County approximately 8 miles south of Friona.
Officials say 19-year-old Noe Panjoj De La Cruz, from Friona, was driving his 2015 Mercury SUV south on State Highway 214 approaching the State Highway 86 intersection. A Truck Tractor Semi-trailer east on State Highway 86 approached the SH 214 intersection when De La Cruz failed to yield at the intersection and drove into the path of the 18-wheeler.
De La Cruz was pronounced dead on scene at 5:30 p.m. by Justice of the Peace Deena Leuea.
No other vehicles were involved.
DPS is investigating the crash.
