Information released in deadly 18-wheeler crash

The Texas Department of Public Safety said a fatal crash happened Saturday around 6:30 p.m. in Fisher County.

DPS said Zachary Ryan Nichols, 26, of Duncan, Oklahoma was transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock, and Paul Glenn Nichols, 50, of Duncan was pronounced dead at the scene.

Zachary Nichols was driving an 18-wheeler southwest on FM 57, DPS said.  Paul Nichols was his passenger.

DPS said, “The vehicle went into a curve near CR-113 at a speed too fast for conditions.”

The 18-wheeler rolled over into the ditch, according to a DPS crash summary.  Neither man was using a seat belt, DPS said.

As of Monday morning, the crash was still under investigation.
