A 2.6 magnitude earthquake was recorded north of Snyder Tuesday afternoon.
The United States Geological Survey reports the earthquake occurred around 15 miles north of town around 2:20 p.m.
This is the only earthquake reported in the region in the last three weeks, but Scurry County has historically experienced a lot of seismic activity.
In February of 2016, KTAB and KRBC reported there were 8 earthquakes in the Snyder area in a 48-hour time span.
