An Amber Alert that was issued Friday evening for an 4-year-old boy taken from his home in Midland County by his father has been discontinued.
The Midland County Sheriff’s Office reports Christopher Allen Tondre was taken into custody at a motel Saturday evening on the northeast side of San Antonio.
His son, Caleb Andrew Tondre, is unharmed and is now in the custody of the San Antonio Police Department.
Special agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Marshals Office, the Lone Star Fugutive Task Force, the Midland County Sheriff’s Office had been continuously working since Friday to located the child and his father.
Christopher Allen Tondre was arrested and is being charged with aggravated kidnapping and child endangerment.
Authorities said the apprehension was made after a relative was followed and talked to after numerous hours of surveillance.
Tondre will be arraigned before a magistrate in San Antonio. He will then be transported back to Midland County where he will be arraigned and await trial in the Midland County Jail.
