The Randall County Sheriff’s Office on Monday publicly identified the victim in a suspicious death case.  RCSO said the body of Loretta Ann Arenas, 44, of Amarillo was found Sunday near Blue Sky Airfield in Amarillo.

An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday in Lubbock.

RCSO said Arenas was reported missing on Thursday.

“This missing person’s report stemmed from a domestic altercation between the missing woman and her 48-year-old boyfriend,” RCSO said.

“The boyfriend had reported that he and the woman were in an argument and he stopped the car adjacent to the airport,” RCSO said. “The female exited the vehicle and walked west into [a] field.”

After a time, the boyfriend called RCSO and deputies tried to find the missing woman.

“At the time of the original missing person report, a very strong thunderstorm had moved through that area,” RCSO said.

The Randall County Sheriff’s Office said officers were treating the case as a suspicious death because there were no obvious signs of how she died.
