On Saturday, September 16, 2017 around 5:14 p.m. the New Mexico State Police were notified of a downed aircraft in the Corona, NM area. Officers arrived at the location and discovered the remnants of a helicopter along with its sole occupant.
Mr. Robert Franklin Martin (64) of Albuquerque, NM sustained fatal injuries during the crash and was pronounced deceased on scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator.
The National Traffic Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration have been called to the scene through normal protocols, to proceed with the investigation.
