A 33-year-old man is facing charges after police say he hit a paramedic in the face after a crash on Friday.

Around 1:45 a.m. Friday, Odessa Police officers were called to Eastridge Road and Loop 338 about a crash.

During the investigation, officers learned that a Dodge Dakota collided with the back of a semi-truck, according to a release from the OPD.

Police say that Paul Perez Jr., the driver of the Dodge truck, then hit a paramedic in the face while they were checking for injuries.

Perez Jr. was then arrested an charged with assault on a public servant, a third-degree-felony, resisting arrest, a class C misdemeanor.
