New Mexico officials were investigating a Monday morning church fire just east of Clovis.
At 10:15, Curry County sheriff’s deputies and the Clovis Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the area of NM 523 and Curry Road ‘H’.
The Living Word Church of God sustained extensive interior damage.
Officials said the building was unoccupied at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
As standard protocol for a church fire, investigators from the New Mexico State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives were called to assess the evidence and assist with a determination of the cause of the fire.
