One woman has died and a 12-year-old girl is in critical condition after Big Spring Police say the woman intentionally drove off the side of a mountain, causing a crash Wednesday.
Police officials say they were called to the crash around 12:48 p.m. Wednesday in the 1900 block of W. 16th Street.
While investigating, police say Rosi Yselda Herrera-Rodriguez, 40, intentionally drove off the side of a cliff at Big Spring State Park while a 12-year-old was in the car.
Herrera-Rodriguez was taken to Scenic Mountain Medical Center and was later pronounced dead, according to a release.
The 12-year-old was airlifted to Midland Memorial Hospital, where police say she is currently in critical condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
