The Texas Rangers have been called to investigate after a Kermit woman was pronounced dead while in custody Monday.
Sheriff Darin Mitchell says Valorin Rodriguez was at the Winkler County Jail and went down.
Crews tried to perform CPR but Rodriguez had to be transported to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead, Sheriff Mitchell said.
Rodriguez was reportedly at the jail on charges of driving while intoxicated with a child passenger.
The sheriff says the Texas Rangers have been called in to investigate the case.
