From political jabs like “NO TRUMP,” “DPORT ME” and “ENSLAVE” to naughty phrases we won’t subject you to, thousands of drivers tried to slip one past the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles last year by requesting profane or derogatory specialty license plates for their sweet rides.
Last fiscal year, the Texas DMV rejected 2,032 specialized license plate suggestions because they violated the state agency’s guidelines for approval.
The DMV cannot release lists of active license plate numbers or specialty plates, but they did provide KXAN with all the plates that were rejected between September 2016 and August 2017.
