Despite reported steady prices at the pump on Thursday, gas prices increased on Friday and Saturday here in Texas and across the nation.

The statewide gas price average in Texas for a gallon regular unleaded fuel on Saturday was reported at $2.03, according to AAA

Saturday’s price was roughly five cents higher than last Saturday but 25 cents lower than this time last year. 

Drivers in San Antonio were paying the lowest average prices on Saturday, while the most expensive prices continue to be found in the Midland-Odessa area.  

AAA reported that average price for regular unleaded in Lubbock was $1.98 on Saturday.

GasBuddy.com was reporting the average price on Saturday of $1.97 in Lubbock.

The national average price for regular unleaded was $2.31 per gallon on Saturday. This price is three cents more than last week but 23 cents lower than one year ago. 

Benchmark and West Texas Intermediate oil prices closed higher on Wall Street Friday.
