Drivers are asked to avoid I-20 in Sweetwater near Hopkins Road due to a tanker truck fire.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said it is investigating the one-vehicle crash in Nolan County.
A truck, towing a tanker with diesel fuel, went off the roadway and caught fire. KTAB/KRBC reported the fire began around 12 p.m near the TA truck stop.
The fire was extinguished by about 1 p.m. The driver of the 18-wheeler was airlifted to a hospital for his injuries.
Drivers must prepare and plan for unknown delays if using I-20, DPS said.
