Holly Harrison has been sentenced by a judge to 20 years in prison for injuring a child and 2 years in prison for tampering with evidence. The sentences will be served concurrently.
Harrison, 38, owned All About Kids, an in-home day care in Georgetown where 5-month-old Brody Havins died on Jan. 13, 2016.
According to an arrest affidavit, on the morning of the baby’s death, Harrison said she went to wake Brody from his nap at 10:30 a.m. but found him “pale, limp and non-responsive.”
Court records indicated Harrison waited approximately 14 minutes from the time she found something wrong with the baby, until the time she called 911. However, earlier this week the state argued Harrison might have waited more than 30 minutes because her phone data showed no activity for a 19-minute period, where they believe Harrison may have discovered something was wrong with Brody.

Harrison told dispatchers she thought Brody choked on an infant mitten and that she tried to do CPR; however, an EMT testified there were no signs that she did CPR. A paramedic said the mitten was too large to fit down Brody’s throat and he couldn’t have choked on it.
“Not knowing what happened in that timeframe or what could’ve been, is always going to haunt I think everyone involved in this case,” said Williamson County District Attorney Shawn Dick.
In court Thursday, Brody’s father David Havins read a letter written by the 5-month-old’s mother to Harrison, saying, “My emotions to you are pure and utter disgust.” Havins also spoke to Harrison saying he’s not an ‘eye for an eye’ kind of guy; he told Harrison he feels for her family, but they’ll get to see her, and his family will never see Brody again.
Harrison must serve a quarter of her sentence before she’s eligible for parole, which includes actual and good time served.
