Officials with Midland ISD have confirmed that a student will face criminal charges after a weapon was found at Midland High School on Tuesday.
According to district officials, the lockdown began when allegations were made that a weapon may or may not be on campus.
Officials, say MISD police were immediately called to the scene after the allegation was made to begin a search of the campus.
The search ended when a .40 caliber pistol was found at the school, according to MISD.
A student has also been detained and MISD officials say criminal charges will be filled.
