The stepfather of Holli Jeffcoat, the Lubbock County teenager who was found dead in her home in February, has been indicted for sexually abusing a victim for several years.
James Bryant Holland, 39, was indicted Tuesday and is charged with continuous sexual assault of a child, a first degree felony.
According to the arrest warrant he is accused of sexually abusing one of Jeffcoat’s close female relatives under the age of 14 years of age. The victim told authorities Holland molested her two to five times a week, for two to three years. She says it all began when she was approximately nine years old. Court records reveal the victim previously denied sexual abuse by Holland, but on February 22nd, 2016, she told authorities Holland had been touching her in a sexual manner for several years.
The indictment against Holland is not related to the death of Holli Jeffcoat, 18 years of age, who was found dead in her home on February 10th. Her death was ruled a homicide but no arrests have been made in her case. However in January court records reveal that Holli Jeffcoat had accused Holland of molesting her in the past. Children’s Protective Services was unable to prove who had abused her in that circumstance.
In February, Jeffcoat’s younger sister was taken by CPS and placed into foster care for her own protection.
