Youth leaders from the Keep Teens Alive youth coalition and the Lubbock County VOICES Coalition working together to create a safer, healthier lifestyle, want to combat Lubbock, Texas problems of underage drinking.
Alcohol has been identified as the #1 drug of choice among youth, and according to our youth, one of the easiest to get. The Keep Teens Alive Youth Coalition and Lubbock County VOICES coalition are joining forces in “Project Sticker Shock,” to educate the public and change attitudes about selling and providing alcohol to anyone under 21.
Local youth from Keep Teens Alive youth coalition will be working with local beer distributors Double M Marketing, Inc. to spread “Sticker Shock” waves throughout Lubbock, Texas by placing stickers on cases of beer. The Sticker spells out a strong reminder: “It’s NOT your call it’s the LAW! IT IS ILLEGAL TO BUY OR PROVIDE ALCOHOL FOR ANYONE UNDER 21!” The stickers with shocking red and black colors will stand out on the beer cases for all to see. “Project Sticker Shock” will be kicked off in this area at Phillips 66, 2440 W. 19th St.
