Two people got a surprise Monday after they purchased a vehicle on Craigslist that turned out to stolen.
Odessa Police stopped two individuals Monday morning who were driving a vehicle that has been reported stolen in Midland County.
About eleven officers responded to the scene on Highway 191 and detained the driver and another individual.
A woman at the scene, who claimed to be a family member of one of the detained individuals, told authorities they had purchased the vehicle on Craigslist and they were unaware that it had been reported stolen.
Odessa Police confirmed the illegitimate sale and said both individuals were released at the scene and no arrests have been made.
The investigation has been turned over to the Midland County Sheriff’s Office.
