The Wichita Falls Police Department reported Sunday a suspect has been arrested in connection to the shooting of two teenage girls Friday afternoon.
Kody Lott, 20, is charged with the murder of Lauren Landavazo and the aggravated assault of Makayla Smith.
He’s being held on a $2 million bond for each count.
Lott was apprehended after leading officers in a brief foot chase outside a Southwest Parkway restaurant.
Police said Lott’s appearance and his vehicle matched descriptions of the suspect and the suspect vehicle.
Lott reportedly confessed to Wichita Falls Police he shot Landavazo and Smith.
Both girls, 13, were shot in the 5200 block of Kingston Drive around 3:30 p.m. Friday.
Lauren Landavazo died from her injuries following the shooting. Makayla Smith was last reported in stable condition at a Wichita Falls hospital.
