Austin Police arrested Shusaku Shiroyama, 32, in connection with a stabbing in East Austin Friday night in the 800 block of East 14th St.

Police said the victim was expecting a friend and heard a knock at the door. But when he opened the door, he noticed a male wearing a ski mask with a long black Samurai sword in his hand.

The victim told police the suspect hit him a couple times across the shoulder with the sword. During the struggle, the ski mask partially came off and the victim recognized the suspect as Shiroyama.

Police said Shiroyama grabbed a dagger from his belt and stabbed the victim in the back.

The victim was able to get away and call 911.

Shiroyama was arrested and taken to the Travis County Jail for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
