Wichita Falls Police arrested a man who is accused of stealing a police car, running over a police officer’s arm, and leading other officers on a high-speed chase.
Police said the incident began late Monday afternoon at 506 Broad Street and ended on a runway at Sheppard Air Force Base. Police were called at 4:25 p.m. for the report of a man trying to break into cars.
An officer found the suspect, and there was a scuffle. The suspect managed to get into the officer’s car and drove away.
The police officer was taken to United Regional Hospital for injuries that are not considered life-threatening. Names have not yet been released.
